About the Role
The Event Manager role is an opportunity to develop innovative educational experiences that drive access, exposure, and education within the STEAM and entrepreneurship professional space. In collaboration with key leadership, the Event Manager will strategize, plan, and manage Houston-based STEAM and entrepreneurship workshops and events to drive impact in underserved communities. You will fulfill a critical role in driving our organization’s mission and vision while making a measurable difference for local students.
Role Responsibilities
Strategize and work collaboratively with the Executive Director and event coordinator interns to develop, plan and manage STEM, entrepreneurship, and business events (workshops, bootcamps, classes)
Develop and implement workshop activities, curriculum, hands-on experiences, and speaking engagements, providing event participants with an educational, rewarding experience
Guide and advise interning event coordinators throughout the event planning process
Capture event success metrics to analyze event impact and participant satisfaction, to improve future events

Self-sufficient, Energetic Doer – take initiative in researching, developing, and managing educational and fun events for students; approach problem-solving with a strategic and acute viewpoint to independently drive to solution
Methodical, Detail-Oriented Planner – utilize advanced planning skills and tools to organize and manage events, ensuring success
Strategic Thinker – approach work with an innovative mindset, bringing forward and testing new ideas that drive impact within the education space
Patient, Service-Oriented Leader & Coach – work compassionately with new students and interns in the field to transfer knowledge and drive learning
